Welcome to Humble Nutrition!

Hey there, beautiful human, I'm Tam, a clinical Nutritionist (BNSc), based in Brisbane, QLD. I am on a journey to build a nurturing community that encourages, empowers and ignites passion for good food that makes people feel good.

My philosophy

I believe that health starts from the ground up. Nutrition is foundational in supporting every aspect of our overall wellness. I want to serve as a guide to those who are eager to unearth more about their health, identify their roots in nutrition, grow their own nutrition knowledge and blossom as advocates for their own health and wellbeing, through sharing humble wisdom gained on my own health journey, studies and ongoing practice in Nutrition.

My Approach

My approach to nutrition is functional, and practical, recognizing that each human being is biologically complex. I believe in, taking a holistic approach that acknowledges the interconnectedness of our body and its processes. There is no one-size-fits-all application of food science because we are all unique with diverse needs.

In my personal experience with allied health professionals, I've observed a common theme - the "it takes as long as it takes" mentality, where clients return to practitioners time and time again with no way to gauge their progress. This can lead people to feel disempowered and passive in their treatment journey. Instead, I strive to empower individuals through education, collaboration and goal setting, tailoring my approach to each clients specific requirements.

I encourage active participation from my clients and community, urging them to be intentional about their journey toward better health. Let's work together with purpose and clarity.

My Method

You can probably already tell, I am doing things a little differently. The aim is, YOU will to take charge of your health and reshape your relationship with food. To do this, I’ve designed a method that will help you to uncover your food story, clarify your motivations, and develop practical strategies for lasting change.

Explore Your Food Story

Together, we'll delve into your personal history with food, exploring your upbringing, cultural influences, and past experiences. By understanding your food story, we can uncover the underlying factors shaping your current eating habits and behaviours.

Identify Your Why

We'll work to clarify your motivations, values, and goals related to your health and well-being. Understanding your why will provide a powerful foundation for your journey, keeping you focused and motivated along the way.

Set Goals

We'll work together to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for your journey. There will also be regular reviews and adjustments of your goals; this will ensure you stay on track and continue progressing towards your desired outcomes. The overarching goal for each client though, is for you to lead in your health journey and be able to advocate for yourself.

You won’t need me forever and we aren’t going to work together for an indefinite period. We will together, set a timeframe for achieving your goals. You are in control of this journey.

Craft Your Wellness Strategy

Together, we'll create a holistic wellness plan tailored to your individual needs and preferences. Your strategy will encompass nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and self-care, promoting overall well-being.

Cultivate Humble Habits

We'll focus on building sustainable habits that support your health and nutrition goals on a daily basis. Starting with small, manageable changes, we'll gradually integrate mindful food habits into your routine. This will look different for each persons unique needs, goals and lifestyle.

  • As a nutritionist, I am university trained in Nutrition science and I have a specific scope of practice. There are certain things that I am personally not able to assist you with. If you are unsure if I can help you, book in a 15 minute free phone consult.

    I cannot provide medical advice or nutrition therapy care; this include:

    • The treatment of chronic health conditions management (i.e., diabetes, hypertension, autoimmune disorders)

    • High performance athletes

    • People who wish to be subscribed specific diets or medication

Step 2. How can I help YOU?

I believe you need to choose your own journey - It’s time for you to asses what you need from me and evaluate the options.

Together we’ll explore a variety of nutrition topics from knowing where your food comes from, to finding joy in cooking. Choose your own level of support by opting for 1-on-1 nutrition consultations, or market tours. Coming soon is my HONE wellness program, full day Nutrition + Cooking workshops, Group Nutrition Education Seminar’s X Humble Supper club, community events and so much more.

  • 1-on-1 nutrition consultations for either 60 or 90 minutes. See my method for a guide as to what we will cover.

  • Held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the market tours will take place at various local farm gates, farmers markets and wholefood markets across Brisbane. Keep your eyes peeled for a location near you.

  • There’s a gap that needs to be closed in order to address food security. That gap is being able to understand what health and good nutrition looks like for and the apply that knowledge when shopping for food and cooking.

  • Group seminars will be run once a month and will cover an array of nutrition related topics. Humble nutrition members will have early access to timetables for seminars These sessions will be held for 1.5 hours on a weeknight. A nourishing meal will be provided during this time.
